Sponsorship Spotlight: PDX Women in Technology
At Right! Systems, our work offers us unique opportunities to get acquainted with local businesses through the IT services we provide; however, our hope is to extend our reach beyond our average nine-to-five. We want to ensure that we’re continuously making an effort to support our community and there is a special place in our hearts for those advancing the tech industry. That’s why, in December 2018, we will begin our sponsorship with PDX Women in Technology!
PDX Women in Technology is a community-based non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon. They work tirelessly to strengthen the city’s tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, and resources to women and underrepresented groups through endless support and empowerment. Ultimately, the hope of PDXWIT is that women will feel accepted, heard, and valued in an industry that struggles with female retention.
In 2012, PDX Women in Tech was founded by Megan Bigelow and it has grown to almost 6,000 current members. Rewarded the ‘2018 People’s Choice Award’ by the Technology Association of Oregon, PDXWIT has helped bring together local men and women through monthly happy hours, panel discussions, mixers, and mentorships. These events allow members of the community to gather in a safe space and network with others in the industry.
